FISM: What was your first experience with FISM, and what memory do you have of that moment?

Hector Pedro Carrion: My first personal encounter at a FISM Congress was in Yokohama (Japan) in 1994.

FISM: As the Continental President, what is the project you are most proud of that you contributed to?

HPC: I am most proud of the joint effort between FLASOMA and ADMi to organize a FISM Convention in Valladolid.

FISM: In your opinion, what is the main obstacle that FISM must overcome to continue growing and thriving in the future? How do you think the organization can successfully address these challenges?

HPC: The main obstacle is achieving the maximum integration for new clubs seeking to join. FISM can successfully address these challenges by facilitating and encouraging the integration process.

FISM: Looking ahead, how do you envision FISM's role in promoting the art of magic globally in the coming years?

HPC: FISM's role should be to guarantee the hierarchy and seriousness of the competition events and their awards, ensuring the continued promotion and recognition of magic on a global scale.

FISM: Would you like to share any feelings or anecdotes about your experience as FISM Continental President?

HPC: Since I assumed the role of General Secretary of FLASOMA in 2004, and following the initiative of then FISM President Mr. Eric Eswin, who recommended the incorporation of our federation, it took five years for this process to be satisfactorily completed. The integration of FLASOMA allowed Latin American magic to gain worldwide recognition, and the awards obtained to date are a testament to this achievement.
